Need an excuse to gorge yourself on chocolate? Head to Geneva for one of the largest marathons in Switzerland - which has nothing to envy France when it comes to running.
What you'll find there:
Course focus:
Held every year in spring, the Generali Genève Marathon is one of the fastest marathons in Switzerland! Its flat courses are all conducive to setting records, whether you're running the marathon, half marathon, 10 km or 5 km. While some races start in the surrounding countryside (no fewer than 12 villages along the route!), all events finish with a lap of honour along the shores of Lake Geneva. Starrrr.
Bonus: the 10 km is run at night. A once-in-a-lifetime experience!
On the entertainment side, the festivities are in full swing throughout the 3 days of the event. Getting nearly 20,000 runners pumped up is no small feat! Finally, several junior races get your little ones trotting along (making for a peaceful journey home).
