KV du Cheval Noir

It's there, just above, this summit of the Cheval Noir and its statue will be your only objective. A landmark placed at an altitude of 2,832m that you will not lose sight of during this Vertical Kilometer offered by the ESF of Saint François de Longchamps and Saint Françcois de Longchamps Tourisme, supported by Dare 2B.

What you will find on site:

• 1250m of D+. Yes, you come for that.
• A post-race buffet and a refreshment bar
• A friendly atmosphere and enthusiasts

Focus on the course:

Departure in the heart of the resort, at an altitude of 1,600m. So far, so good. You have with you your mandatory equipment: 1 whistle, 1 survival blanket, 50cl of water minimum and your charged mobile phone. Your best trail bag is highly recommended to store your energy bars (and the papers when you have devoured them!). Finally, if you are team poles, it's OK.

We leave on rather gentle slopes, enjoy the incredible landscape because it is one of the only times when your cardio will allow you to!

You arrive at the magnificent Lac Blanc, refreshment, then that's it, it's time, RIGHT IN THE STEEP!! A beautiful scree slope overlooking the Col de la Madeleine, the resort and the Lauzière range.

You cross the Col du Cheval Noir, I hope you have some left under your feet because after a "flat" it's off for the last 300 meters of D+ until this "damn statue" (at this precise moment it's the vision you have of it, but we love this statue!).

That's it, you've done it! Now you can encourage your friends who wouldn't have gone as fast as you on the way down, and go and enjoy the refreshment point at the bottom.
