When the coastline of Cotentin opens onto the English Channel, it transforms its cliffs, beaches, moorlands and trails into a raw playground — welcome to La Barjo.
More than a trail run: a wild crossing, between sea and granite, between effort and authenticity. Here, no frills: just you, the Norman coast and a course that never cheats.
What you'll find on site
- A raw and contrasted natural setting: cliffs, dunes, beaches, moorlands and coastal paths sculpted by wind and sea.
- A simple and warm atmosphere: dedicated volunteers, tight logistics, starts and finishes in Beaumont-Hague in a true "local trail" spirit.
- Several formats for all levels, from the runner who wants to discover the coast to the one aiming for a long immersion in the heart of nature.
Course focus
- La Barjo offers several formats, each with its own personality, but all rooted in the same signature: technical, ever-changing and deeply maritime terrain.
- Ultra-Trail (≈81 km)
The flagship event. A long coastal ribbon, sometimes gentle, sometimes punishing, always demanding. A committed route, with a generous time limit but requiring real race management with partial self-sufficiency.
- La ½ Barjo (≈50 km)
An intermediate format that remains very serious: long sections of coastal paths, varied elevation, sweeping views over the English Channel. A true race of character.
- Trail "Brin de Folie" (≈28 km)
More accessible but never monotonous. Perfect for discovering the Barjo spirit: short climbs, quick passages, varied terrain.
- Nature Race (≈15 km)
The most compact format, ideal for getting into off-road running the Cotentin way — simple, dynamic and panoramic.
All courses cover large portions of the coastline, in a sensitive environment that must be respected. Here, the setting dictates its own pace: wind, salt, rocks, clifftop paths and woodland passages… a diversity that makes the whole Barjo signature.
The Barjo spirit
La Barjo is above all an encounter: between a straightforward, unpretentious territory and a community of runners who come looking for something real.
People come to:
- experience a race where nature is both judge and witness,
- feel the coast in all its power,
- share a simple, powerful moment with people who love running just as much as protecting what they run through.
