Running in Brittany means exposing yourself to multiple dangers (drizzle and seagulls, to name just a few). Fortunately, the game is always worth the candle, as the Auray-Vannes International Half-Marathon proves!
What you will find on site:
• A half-marathon, a 10 km and a 5 km;
• Refreshments, pacemakers, shuttles, changing rooms and showers;
• An army of 800 volunteers on the go.
Course focus:
Created in 1975, the Auray-Vannes International Half-Marathon is a flagship event in Morbihan (did you get it?). Your mission, should you choose to accept it: to get from Auray to Vannes as quickly as possible. Between the two, the beauty of the Gulf of Morbihan, the charm of its villages and the warm welcome of its inhabitants. Every year, many people cheer on the 5,000 or so runners who compete. But don’t get too excited, because the courses have a reputation for being demanding. A word of advice: hold back your tears (or your vomit) for the spectacular arrival on the track at the Kercado stadium in Vannes. Big smile for the photo finish!
3 (very) good reasons to participate:
• The after party with sailor songs and traditional dances;
• The village sausage pancake on display;
• We'll offer you a Breton bowl at the finish line (yes, really).
