Course focus

It's simple, the 20 km of Maroilles is a legend. Every year, nearly 4,000 participants meet up to challenge this 100% road course, designed to combine performance and pleasure. A relaxed start, crossing urban areas, then immersion in magnificent natural landscapes... until the legendary event at km 15: the 600 m of the Grand-Fayt hill with its 6% slope. There, your legs scream "stop", but your heart says "more!" And as if that wasn't enough, this afternoon race is spiced up by an elite field that ensures a grandiose spectacle, not forgetting the disabled athletes who show that nothing is impossible.

• The men's record to beat: 00:58:39 in 2008. Come on, we know you're itching to do better;

• Created in 1983, it's the oldest race in Hauts-de-France. Suffice to say that you're racing in history (and in cheese, but that's another story);
