Corrida de Buxy

Running through the cobblestone streets of a medieval village in the middle of January — does that speak to you? The Corrida de Buxy is the atmosphere of a village race with the taste of tarmac and a timed battle. A sporting interlude in the heart of Saône-et-Loire. And watch out — the village paving stones spare no one.

What you'll find on-site:

• A Corrida of 10 km and youth races. No one gets left on the sidelines;

• A tasty refreshment stand at the finish;

• A buzzing atmosphere in the heart of the village and a herd of headlamps roaming the streets in joy and good spirits.

Course focus:

Think the Corrida de Buxy is a Saturday stroll? Think again. The course winds through the heart of old Buxy, where the cobblestones show no mercy and the narrow alleyways demand as many surges as they do cool-headedness. A fast and technical race, with a few kerbs to master, lighting to plan for (a headlamp is strongly recommended), and a solid pair of legs to keep up with the pace.

Younger runners will also have plenty of room to shine on age-appropriate distances, while the little ones take their first strides under the proud and emotional eyes of their parents. The Corrida is a family affair!

Three (very) good reasons to take part:

• Running by headlamp through a postcard-perfect medieval setting is still way cooler than a jog through an industrial estate;

• Taking on a real technical challenge over 10 km, with the support (or treachery) of cobblestones underfoot;

• Enjoying a warm, local, and honest atmosphere. No pacers, no assistance — just you, the street, and the clock.
