Aaaahh the countryside. Fresh air. Rural expanses. Charming little towns. Unleashed runners (and weekend warriors). Gatherings where people sweat and laugh. Got the picture? Welcome to the Foulées vertes de Mérignies!

What you'll find on site:

  • Three distances at the start: 5 km, 10 km and a 1 km children's race;
  • A refreshment station at the halfway point of the 10km and at the finish line for everyone;
  • A race that lives up to the Nord region's reputation: charming scenery and equally charming locals;
  • Showers, changing rooms, bag storage, refreshments and even a village waiting just for you at the finish. Well, and the other runners, but you get the idea.

Course focus: The main character here, after you, is Mérignies. With a ratio of 90% tarmac and 10% greenways, these Foulées take you through the town's alleyways for your greatest pleasure. The paths are cleared specially for the occasion, perfect for running until your legs give out and making the most of the moment to let off steam - without forgetting to admire the region's typical architecture.

Feeling a bit drained? Count on the locals to boost you all the way to the finish line!

One last highlight: the organisers are doing everything they can to make the event as eco-friendly as possible. And that, we're all for!

New this year: This year, the 5 km race will stand out with an original and resolutely convivial concept: iconic duos. One hundred race bibs will be dedicated to creating 50 costumed pairs, inviting participants to run together in costumes inspired by famous duos, real or fictional. Friends, family members or colleagues will be able to share the effort and joy of the race, while letting their imagination run wild. There's only one rule: cross the start and finish line together, in a festive, creative and light-hearted spirit.

3 (super) reasons to take part:

  • Do your Sunday jog in an atmosphere that's second to none;
  • (Re)discover the town, get to know your neighbours and, why not, organise a little recovery session over a drink (of grenadine, yes indeed).
  • Run for a good cause. Every race bib donates €2 to the Association Petits Princes, which grants the wishes of seriously ill children. You can even add an extra donation when you register.
