Grand Raid 73

The Grand Raid 73 is a classic event in the Savoyard calendar! It starts from the village of Cruet, at the foot of the Marocaz pass, and offers five different races.

 

The flagship race is the 74.5 km trail with an elevation gain of 5,300 m. This course takes you through superb places such as Lac de la Thuile, Col des Prés, Les Ailons, and Mont Colombier. If you want to share the effort, you can also opt for the relay format.

 

The Bauju is a beautiful 50 km event with a 3,300 m elevation gain.

The Petit Savoyard is a little shorter, 23 km with a 1300 m elevation gain, passing through Lac de la Thuile and Col du Marocaz.

For those who prefer shorter distances, there is the 10 km des Vignes , a fast course that winds through the vineyards around the village of Cruet (500 m of altitude difference). Possibility of doing a walking course!

These races are also indexed to the ITRA, which can add a special dimension to your experience if you are looking for a serious challenge. In any case, there is something to satisfy trail enthusiasts on each of the courses!

Mandatory equipment : For the long trails (GR73 and Bauju), make sure you have at least 1.5 liters of water with you. You will also need to have a survival blanket, a working lamp, a whistle, a waterproof jacket capable of withstanding harsh mountain weather conditions, a supply of food, a charged phone, and shoes suitable for trail running.

For all races, don't forget your own cup, as there will be no cups available at the refreshment points.
