Head to Catalonia for a rugged ride through hills, trails, and red dust. La Pota Roja is real trail running, just the way we like it: rustic, generous, no frills, but with everything you need to thrill you. On November 10th, head to Cervelló for an edition designed for strong legs and playful spirits.
What you'll find there:
4 trail formats: 8 km, 14 km, 24 km, and a robust 42 km (ITRA-validated – 2 endurance points, 4 mountain points);
2 mountain bike formats: 20 km and 35 km for singletrack enthusiasts in rally mode;
Well-placed aid stations: 1 on the 8 km, 2 on the 14 km, 3 on the 24 km, and 6 for the marathon. Mountain bikers are also catered for;
A start and finish in the heart of Cervelló, in front of the Ceraqua complex. You'll literally do the loop.
Course Focus:
Here, it's dry, it's technical, and it climbs faster than it descends. Catalan trails deserve their reputation: sometimes smooth, often tricky, always demanding. You'll juggle between red dirt, rocky slopes, and tense climbs, all just a stone's throw from Barcelona, but in a world apart.
The 42 km is serious business: management, mental strength, and thighs burning well before the finish. Shorter courses aren't exactly leisurely: over 8 or 14 km, every meter counts. And for cyclists, the 20 or 35 km mountain bike tour will require precision and a bit of poise on the descents.
No time? Yes, even with a real bib equipped with a chip. You're there to play, but not blindly.
3 (very) good reasons to participate:
To experience real Catalan terrain without it being the ultra of your life: a challenge, yes, but calibrated for all levels;
To test your end-of-season fitness on a course that doesn't forgive any guesswork;
To spend a weekend just a stone's throw from Barcelona, enjoying sports and tapas: a winning combination.
