Runners, from the top of the bell towers of Chartres Cathedral, eight centuries look down on you. But no pressure, I promise! Just enough to live an unforgettable first experience in a place full of history. Cool, right?
What you'll find there:
• A half marathon, a 10 km and a 5 km: all FFA-certified and qualifying for the French championships;
• 4 children's courses;
• Nearly 4,000 runners and more than 200 volunteers. A great crowd to accompany you.
Course focus:
The Chartres half marathon offers you a break from time: starting in the city center, passing in front of the majestic cathedral, zigzagging between the cobbled streets and the Bishop's garden, then heading for the banks of the Eure to recharge your batteries along the water. A rolling route, perfect for aiming for a time or discovering the distance without suffering too much.
If you went so fast that you missed a monument, no worries, the half marathon course includes 2 loops! And if you prefer compact formats, there is also a 5 and a 10 km. Not forgetting the children's races, with adapted distances.
On the organization side, it's all square! Everything is designed to welcome you in the best conditions. The arrival village, set up at the Jacques-Couvret Stadium, awaits you with well-deserved refreshments, varied stands and entertainment for the whole family. Yes, because the youngest also got their thighs warmed up!
3 (very) good reasons to participate:
• Mentchikoffs, chocolate-coated pralines, local specialties. The Macarons de Chartres aren't bad either;
• The "Company Challenge" over the 3 distances: perfect if you come with colleagues!
• Children's races for the benefit of Unicef.
