The Tarmac Race

Run on an airport runway. Not beside it. Not around it. On it.

The Tarmac Race gives access to the tarmac of Valence-Chabeuil airport for a 5 or 10 km race. A perfectly smooth surface, no elevation, no traffic: just a great stretch of asphalt made for speed.

We leave the usual roads and trails for terrain normally closed to the public. A simple and direct experience: running on the runway.

Course focus:

The route runs entirely on the runway and taxiing areas of the airport. Wide flat loops, with no sharp turns or rhythm breaks.

The 5 km combines a small and a large loop. The 10 km adds a complete lap of the large loop. Always on the tarmac, with very clear race reading: you can see far, you flow, you maintain pace.

• Run on a real airport runway, normally inaccessible
• 100% flat and rolling terrain
• A semi-nocturnal race with sunset over the Vercors and Ardèche
• Lit runway, DJ and speaker during the race
• A lively village all evening (food trucks, brewery, ice cream shop, partner stands)
