There are races that stand out for their elevation gain. Others for their atmosphere. And then there are those that tick every box. The Trail des Cadoles falls into that rare category. Head to Saône-et-Loire, in the heart of the Tournugeois, for a dive into the wild trails of the Brancion massif, with the Château firmly in your sights. The stage is set — now it's your turn.

What you'll find on site:

  • 4 routes to put your legs to the test;
  • Well-placed aid stations to refuel along the way;
  • A luggage storage area on site so you can travel light and enjoy it to the fullest;
  • A refreshment stand and light catering to keep the good times going after the race.

Route highlights:

Expect paths and trails, a near-total immersion in Natura 2000 protected areas, and one clear theme: single-track. Up to 80% narrow, playful, sometimes technical, always inspiring trails. The 11 km is accessible, but far from bland. It takes you along the legendary Arbanais single-track, before a final loop through the medieval village. Non-negotiable bonus: a sunset over the Grosne valley to finish in style.

The 18 km steps things up a notch. A concentrated taste of the best of the Brancion massif, with a largely reworked course and intelligently distributed elevation gain. Over 600 m of D+ to tackle, relentless rolling terrain, very little tarmac, and always those cadoles, low stone walls and wooded passages that add texture to every stride.

The 27 km is the lords' race. A wide loop around the former lordship of Brancion, open panoramas over the Grosne valley, then a return heading due south along the cadoles trails. The finish is shared with the 18 km, at dusk, when the light turns soft and your legs start seriously negotiating. Photo facing the setting sun, a pass by the château, and a well-earned finish.

3 good reasons to take part:

  • A wild and immersive course predominantly on single-track, with views that are as calming as they are impressive;
  • A royal finish – Running all the way to the majestic Château de Brancion is priceless;
  • An organisation that takes great care of you.

So, ready to venture out on the Trail des Cadoles?
