Here, nobody wins by running fast. You win by refusing to stop. Welcome to the Backyard Ultra Trail de Poulx, the format where the finish line doesn't really exist — it just waits for everyone else to crack before you.
What you'll find on site
- A 6.704 km course to devour in loops, literally, every hour, until there's only one madcap left standing;
- A landscape classified as Natura 2000 and UNESCO Biosphere Reserve: we give you the most beautiful pain cave setting;
- Automatic tracking at every lap, so nobody can tell tall tales about their timings;
- A base camp to catch your breath, wolf down your snacks (this is the moment to fit in your gut training session), close your eyes for three minutes, before the bell rings again.
Course focus
The garrigue calls the shots: technical singletrack that reminds you you're not on home turf, a few DFCI tracks where you can breathe, and one or two climbs that become decidedly less friendly by the twelfth lap. Between woodland passages and open views over the cliffs of the massif gardois, the route winds through wild combes where you'll encounter more silence than spectators. An unforgettable life adventure in a breathtaking setting.
3 (very) good reasons to take part
- Discover how many times your brain can tell you "stop" before your legs actually listen;
- Run in one of the rare spots where nature remains wild, far from the noise of cars and the rest of the world;
- Being able to say, the next time someone talks to you about "pushing your limits", that you literally waited for everyone else to quit in order to win.
