A lively atmosphere, medieval decor, bucolic landscapes, runners in disguise, refreshments to fill your belly, in short, the Bresse Dombes marathon! This race is a life-size party that promises an intense and delicious experience.
What you will find on site:
• The marathon (solo or in relays of 2 or 4), the semi, a 10 km and a 5 km, marches between 7 km and 12 km and enough to get the kids running;
• Royal refreshment points and pacemakers;
• Châtillon-Vonnas shuttles to take you to the start of the half-march. Because 21 km is already quite a distance.
Course focus:
Ready to let loose? Yes, because the marathon starts at the Châtillon-sur-Chalaronne racecourse. And believe me, there will be a great atmosphere in the paddock! Trot or gallop, it's up to you to choose your pace!
With its figure-of-eight layout and 310 m of D+, the main event takes you along the Dombes ponds and the Bresse countryside. Then head to Vonnas, the land of the three-star chef Georges Blanc. From there, the marathon joins the half-marathon for a return to the medieval city of Châtillon.
Get ready for a triumphant arrival under the Porte de Villars, the Market Halls (the longest in France) and a finish in the city center!
A 10 and a 5 km, two walk formats and children's races are also on the program. And for an even crazier atmosphere, think about coming with your best costume!
3 (very) good reasons to participate:
• The Finisher medal! (Yes, you also get the jersey);
• The solidarity marches to support the fight against cancer;
• The many castles that you will come across on the course.
